Stoughton October 1st 1941

Dear Doris

We had a little shower last night & its [[it's]] cloudy today & looks like more rain, wind is to the south & warmer. Yesterday was freezing but warmed up during the day. I was afraid my plants would get chilled on the porch, so brought all but the geraniums in & put them in the bay window where they look nice & natural.
 
Lottie Crane & Charlotte came up Sunday night, they had a chance to ride up and back with one of their boys, they seemed pleased & inquired after you & family she has lost flesh. Before she was too fat now it has been an improvement in her looks.

The Beal house has been sold to some one who has turned it into an old folks home for invalids. Winnie Terrell lives there, she is sick with a cancer. her husband dies with heart failure she was Hubert Homes daughter, she is on the town that seems to be an unlucky house. every one who
