has lived there so far has lost their money Jack Capen built it he shouldnt he had'nt the money & owed every body. then Charley Upham exchanged houses with Abbie Joel. he lost money & committed suicide. Edgar Beal was the next one, he had the corner store & every body owed him which crippled him, no one knows where he is. he came back a pauper & lived with his daughter dont know where he is now. His wife is a nurse & she was she was Irish. Allan the son married an Irish doctors daughter in this town.

The day is raining leaves are growing yellow & falling from the trees. from drought. there were puddles of water, but we did'nt get rain enough. perhaps we get more later on. anything to prevent fires in the woods.

I had mackerel for my dinner & sweet potatoes & tomatoes A very good dinner. Bill brought us over some tomatoes from his garden also an ice cream Mrs Terrell gave us some tomatoes from her garden and a big boquet [[bouquet]]. she is going to find a place for Myrtie to live she pities her, they are sick of her at Alices. Percy is home from the Mass General & gone to work part of the day so to hold his job. looks bad, well hope he gets over it they say its ulcers of the stomach
