Stoughton April 30th, 1941

Dear Doris

It is a few degrees warmer this morning and think today its going to warm up. This has been our coldest April Ive ever had as far as I can remember. but things are coming along fast. the trees are leaving out & every where we see the bulbs are blooming. I saw an oriole early before I was out of bed thats a sure sign of warm days. 60° early on the porch.

I am scart of fires. last night our number was rung in but afterwords they rung 5-2 that was right. It was on Porter & Washington Streets a slight fire caused by boys throwing a lighted cigar & setting fire to an awning at Burts shoe store it was out in no time. Lots of leaves are around which make it dangerous where we live.

I am ready to make those pajamas any time you send up the goods so don't hesetate [[hesitate]] in getting the cloth it will give me a chance to
