Reports that Randolph who spoke at Abbeville on the 15th was killed at Hodge's Depot on the 16th while passing from the Abbeville to the Anderson train by three white men of a party of five.

Elsie Robertson states that Bill Colvert (Talbert) and — Roberts shot. Aaron Mitchell, Bob Cunningham and one Weston, a minister, all colored, saw the shooting.
