De Knight W.F.

Reports that Isaac Black freedman reported on the 19th as shot has since died and further developments point strongly to his employer Mr Stephen McKee, as having, without justification, shot him.

Aiken S.C. Sept. 24, 1868.

Respectfully returned to Mr W.F. De Knight for report whether a Coroner's Inquest has been held over the dead body of Isaac Black and if so, what was the verdict.

The case is clearly one in which the action of a Coroner should be had.
