endeavored to get out a warrant for the arrest of the wounded man, which was refused by the Magistrate to whom he applied, at least until the man got well.

There are other circumstances which leave hardly a doubt that Mc Kee is guiltily implicated in this affair; but, of course, on such evidence alone no Magistrate here could be got to act.
