Some express a doubt as to being able in the fall to attend to all the liens, and prevent fraud, giving instances that occurred where people last year received provisions on lien, and changed their abode, who cannot now be found.

Capt. Place of Sumter, and Capt Pingree of Darlington express the opinion that quite a large force would be required, to guard against fraud, and to protect the interests of the Government, by taking possession in accordance with the provisions of the orders made to meet such emergencies.
