[[strikethrough]] and I flatter myself to say that these freedpeople by my advise and the subsistance I could give them, have done better then hundreds of miles around my Head Quarters.
The Crop is properly divided, the people took their shares, the accounts through me settled and all is right.
On yesterday evening, I had a visit of hundreds of my children who wished to bring me Merry Christmas with a quantity of wild ducks & misc.
At least Congress should continue the Bureau until the 30' of June 1869 and make appropriation for subsistance to help the orphans and old unfortunate people [[/strikethrough]].
