S 121 encl WARRANT OF ARREST. JOSEPH WALKER, AGT. PRINT., NO. 3 BROAD ST., CHARLESTON. The State of South Carolina. Williamsburgh DISTRICT. By S W Maurice Magistrate in and for the said State. TO ANY LAWFUL CONSTABLE. WHEREAS, complaint upon oath has been made unto me, by Samuel B Gordon that at ___________ in the District and State aforesaid on or about the day of August one Quash Ragin did feloniously take and carry away from the plantation a lot of watermellons his proper goods and chattels & that W C Gordon is a material witness THESE are, therefore, to command you to apprehend the said Defendant, & witneses and bring them before me, to be dealt with according to law. GIVEN under my Hand and Seal, the 28th day of October one thousand eight hundred and Sixty Seven Saml M Maurice L.S. Magistrate. AFFIDAVIT. The State of South Carolina. Williamsburgh DISTRICT. PERSONALLY appeared before me S M Maurice a Magistrate of the said State Sam B Gordon who being duly sworn, says: that Quash Reagins did at in the District and State aforesaid, on or about the day of August inst & last feloneously take and carry away a number of watermellons to wit about five of the proper goods and chattels of lard deponent contrary to the peace and dignity of the State and the Statute in such case made and provided and that W C Gordon is a material witness.
