that this lumber & some of these buildings should be used this season as School houses on the Islands, it is necessary this should be done if the schools are to be continued. States that Mr. Tomlinson can plan & locate these Schools more advantageously than any other man, because of his knowledge of the Islands and experience in educational affairs. States that the circumstances which led to the assignment of Genl Giles to this duty do not now exist, has no doubt that Genl Giles would prefer to be relieved of it.  Hopes therefore that Mr. Tomlinson will be put in full charge of the Educational work on these Islands.
