We the undersigned freed men and women of the Grove Plantation do hereby acknowledge to have received of 1st Lieutenant W. H. Danilson 40th. U.S. Inftry. Asst Sub Asst. Coms. Bu. Refgs. Freedmen, and Abnd, Lands as our pay for labor from Febry. 18th to Nov. 10th 1867 the No. pounds Stone Cotton set opposite our respective names -
