Major Everson U.S.A.
Major
Mr Guilliaume wrote last week and requested that a mule be sent down for him to come up here on. I sent two one for him, and one for the boy to came back on. the boy returned on foot, and said that Mr. Bequest had taken both of the mules and refused to give them up, saying Mr Guilliaum owed him fifteen (15) Dollars. I should have sent to you before but expected Mr G would rectify it but as I have not heard from him, I now must request that you would get the mules and return them to me by bearer William They are two of the mules that were seized by Major O'Brian and turned over to my keeping with the mules is a saddle bridle & rope by attending to the above you will much oblige Yours,
Very Respectfully
