General 
I have the honor to request permission to take up upon my form "2" on and after Feb. 1st 70 a House occupied as a Freedmens School in the town of Yorkville S.C. at the rate of $8.00 per month. H. H. Griffin being the landlord and also the teacher.

A teacher has never before this season been located in this place and I am informed that after the 28th of February the Prin Comr. of H.M. will not be able to pay his salary and it is very desirable that his school be kept up. I have assurances that he will remain if the Bureau will assume the rent of the house
