Rev'd Jos. Welch
Superintendent of Schools
Austin Texas

Sir

Can you send me Transportation. I have a desire to return North.

I came from Chicago but should prefer going to New York for which point please make out my Transportation, in case you furnish it one.

I wrote North for Transportation, but have not received it. I now apply to you, and think when you consider the circumstances, that you will consider I deserve to get it: I worked faithfully and with good results for two years (nearly) and was promised that any travelling expenses North should be defrayed. I am not doing well here and wish to go North.

Hoping your sense of justice will befriend one.

I am
Very Respectfully Yours
