My Dear Sir:

I am just in receipt of yours of the 2d inst.
Brother is now at Palacios, but I will send a letter down to him to-day, about the lumber for the building at Shiloh.
I will use my influence to the utmost in urging the people forward to the completion of the work, as I am very anxious it should be done, but I am satisfied they fully appreciate the necessity of going a-head.
