Dear Sir
I respectfully suggest that Hugh Ames teacher of
Freed-men School at this place, be sent to some other field To use the language of the country is is "Played out" here & The Freed People have lost confidence in him, and cannot be expected to much more good here. He is a good teacher, but is that kind of a man that soon wears out. I would like to have another teacher on 1st Oct. Owing to press of business with Freedman in picking cotton I have concluded to defer the school at Hackbery [[P.6.?]] until the crop is gathered. I am vey respectfully
