Brenham Washington Co Feb 5th 1869 Revd Joseph Welsh Supt of Schools Dear Sir The committee who [[illegible]] on you, when in Brenham, has succeeded in buying a building belonging to Wiley Herbert for the sum of four hundred dollars, & have given the deed to the committee for the Colored Race. The house is 30 by 50 & contains 90 square feet of land. It will cost about $150.00 to arrange it suitable for school purposes. That is winders seats black-boards & stage. The offer you made me while in Brenham (that is to be transfered to Richmond Texas) if it is still open I will accept it to take place 1st March Very Resptly &c M Foster P.S.
