Sir,
This will inform
you that I am at the above named
place not being successful in establishing myself at Indianola there
being a teacher already installed by Capt Bai-,
ley I repaired hither and have commenced
school. There are great numbers
of colored children in this village and its
immediate vicinage totally without the
means of education. Some of these children
whose parents can afford it, send
them to the school of Columbus. but these
are comparatively few, as the masses
are wretchedly poor. Can not Something
