Sir,
I am in receipt of a letter of the 23rd inst. from Col. W.H. Sinclair, Asst Supt. of 2nd School District in answer to a correspondence of mine, of the 19th. inst relative to a School which I am in process of establishing in the above named place- Alleyton- in his letter, Col. Sinclair informs me that he will be relieved of his duties as Asst. Supt. of this district at the end of this month and refers me to you, who is now or will be then, the only agent for the whole State. The Colonel further states that he has refered my letter to you recommending me at the same time to your consideration. I have no doubt you have some recollection of me as I have kept school for some time in Galveston,[[strike through]] and [[/strike through]] having also once been assigned by you,
