Paris Texas July 26th 1869

Dear Sir,
I received your letter some time since. We have been trying all this while to get the calculations of the cost of the house as you requested but we have made a complete failure for all the carpenters here that are capable are rebels & are so prejudiced that none of them will do the business. Therefore I will do the best I can. I can give you the price of the materials here and then I think you can have the bill made and by some competent carpenters there lumber deliver here cost $2.75 per hundred nails 10 cents per lb window panes 15 cents a piece Specie
