if you will will take this school under your fostering care and patronage, it will be the worthiest monument to your administration of Education in the state. 
This settlement is not intended to be a villidge, but a farming settlement, where every settler is expected to live on his own land. Genl. Howard's order was made upon the recommendation of Genl Kidd's some 3 year's ago I think. I will be obliged if you will examine this question well and decide what you will do & advise me of same & if you act favorable, let the work commence at once. I want a building that will cost 1800 or 2000$. The citizens of Huntsville & county will donate several hundred dollars. I think I have said enough until I hear from you and I will subscribe myself
