Your communication of the 16th of April is received; In reply I am happy to tender my sincere thanks to you and Mr. Ruby for your kind consideration in my behalf. at Present I have a Situation on the Police force in Houston; and before Relinquishing that Duty I thought proper to obtain some Information from you in relation to the terms of salary & all other Particulars. requisite for me to know fully before entering upon the Duties as Teacher at Navasota. if the Terms are Such as to justify me in changing my position I will report Promptly to you for Consignment to Duty as Early as Possible. Please answer this when you think Proper. With Deep Respect and Gratitude to You and Mr. Ruby.
