and that somebody must lose one it wanted to know if I cld, not take up a collection among the people to make up the amt. I have not been sucessful in collecting anything but tuition from the people. I told him to send me the bill of what we had had and if the expense was equal to what the contract called for we would stop where we were unless the people wished to make up the rest, but I shd. want to make a full statement of how the matter stood if I asked them to do anything of the kind. As he did not send the bill of expenses and the lumber was there we have used it and I do not intend to ask the people to fill out his contract for him which he ought to have done months ago. I trust I that I shall not be obliged to trouble Mr. Stearns much more.
