Sir at the request of Mrs A. T. Perry I write you for the purpose of soliciting for Mrs. Perry the position of teacher of the Freedmen school at Columbus Texas
The entire community are in favor of her Teaching I have conversed with a Large number of them and find that she is the choice of the people.  They held a meeting some time since and voted for her almost unanimously
