Sir:
I would respectfully request that you forward to me Check No 536,219 for $200 00/100 Bounty for John James late of Camp "F" 36th U.S. Col Troops from whom I have a power of Attorney to collect all Debts due him etc etc.

I was informed under date June 3d 1870 from Washington, that the above returned Check was sent by the 2nd Auditor to the Commissioner of the Freedmens Bureau Washington D.C. on March 25/70. I communicated with that Officer under date of June 13/70. and by that Officer was to day informed as follows
