May the 22th 1870 Calvert Texas Robertson Co Mr. Stevenson Dear Sir I received your letter of information, and I thank you from my heart, for your kindness you have bestowed upon me. I have concluded to bring my School to a close at the end of this month. my destination will be. Galveston. I have a Brother in Galveston I have not Seen in two years. The means that I receive here does not keep me up and I am compelled to change my home. Mr Stevenson I thank you for your kindness and Friendship you have shown me, and I will will always remember you hereafter. I am far from home and Mother my home is New York City I have been from home three years. And I try hard to to make an honest living. but sickness has reduced me in my expectations. I will send in my report. and would be happy to hear from you at Galveston and if you could select me aplase in Galveston I would be very happy indeed of the offer I remain yours Obt.
