Deed made to all free persons of color [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] who have "power of election to designate in whom [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] said title shall rest"

Now 1st seven Trustees were elected about Jany 1 [[strikethrough]] 1869 [[/strikethrough]]. 

2. The Trustees, and the colored people declared it their wish intention and desire to place the Land, school house in the Hands of the Bureau : But as the time of the Freedmen Bureau had run out they the refered it respectfully to the Head of the US Government Educational Department in Texas Rev Jos Welch. 

Now I propose placing the following on the deed and recording or rather having a Union White Lawyer named Aford. whom I believe to be a straight man. The mayor of the city, do it according to law. 

At a called & special meeting of the colored People in Fttvill & v'c'n'ty &c. held to elect Trustees &c The following trustees were chose
