to pay low rates of tuition, much below what is customary.- It is our desire not only to retain Mr. Zeuly, but to employ a suitable assistant, in order that justice may be done to so many Scholars.

If convenient for you to do so, we would be pleased to have you visit the school,- and witness its exercises, to see the pains taken to instruct the children, the system & order with which the school is carried on, and the interest taken by the freedmen in trying to build up a good school. We will be grateful for such assistance as you can render us.- We hope to see a perfect organization of the School System for the State, and until then desire that the school shall go on, and appeal to you to assist us in completing the house, and a monthly Donation to employ competent & reliable teachers.
