Respected Sir.
Yours of the 29th ult. is at hand and contense noted; in reply I can only give you very limited report.

I have learned that a Gentleman by the name of Nathan Ogg (Col.) has a good School in the North West potion of this County. There is a young Lady by the name of Elor Anderson (Col.) teaching near this place; also a good School, I learn at Mount Prairie Some 9 Miles from here. That I do not know the teacher.- The address of Mr. Ogg, & Miss - Anderson is Palestine Tex.

There is about 100 Pupil at the three Schools from what I have learned; And in the County Some 8 or 900, other Free Children between the age of 5 and 15 years old, not at School. Anderson County is a largely populated County of Freed People, and the demands
