Fayetteville 10th June 1870

Major Louis W. Stevenson Supt Education

Dear Sir: 
I have just been able to turn over my school to a colored man named Blackburn and am at your disposal. The people of La Grange have asked me to make a high school near there. But, I shall go to Burleson or Navasota as you think best as soon as I receive a reply from you.

Please state the place & send me a letter of introduction to some one or a general letter if you think it necessary. 

I await your answer before making any start although I am fully prepared to go at a moment's notice.
 
I shall make report out this month for Fayetteville, & sign & send it to you this next week.

I wish I could found a High School, a College for advanced students.

My knowledge of Greek Latin & Hebrew & being familiar with Scriptures render me peculiarly fitted to elevate these
