The bureau paid the rent, which Lieut Stephenson agreed to do if we would let him have the use of the house for school purposes. As he said he had to have a hous some way our hous was in debt and we let him have it. But no arrangement was entered into with him by Mr. Rawson to deed the property to anyone. And if Mr Welch or Mr Stephenson thinks they can get such a house built in this country for five hundred and sixty Dollars they are mistaken. Mr Rawson ought to have three months more rent I cannot see what Mr Welch means unless he intends that the property be deeded to twelve of the Freedmen as trustees and thru them conduct the school on their own account. Mr Rawson certainly is entitled to 3 months more rent. he has signed the Vouchers for one month but
