I think that in ten days the house will be ready to occupy for school. All the desks & seats will be not be done, but sufficient of them will be ready so that school can begin.

Mr. Stephens sent Miss R Trussel here as teacher to take Charge of school in the new house, and she is here without money & nothing to do. He should have written first to Know the Condition that the house was in & not sent a woman here in That way. I have more business of my own than I can attend to, But I shall render all assistance I can. A division appears among the Freedmen about Teachers - Some favor Brown & others the lady - and I think it would be best for Brown to continue school until after Examination as preparations are making for it - But I have nothing to say - I don't want to lose anything on account of failure to complete house by 1st Nov, & you will so arrange it for me, you know the impossibility of it.
Yours truly W J Neely
