Office S.A.C. B.R &c
Indianola, July 31 1868.

Lt. Chas. A. Vernon.
A.A.A.G.

Mr. Clain the teacher in this place seemed totally unfit for his duties and gained neither the confidence of the parents of the scholars or the respect of the Citizens. He tendered his resignation to take effect the last day of this month, which was accepted by me. The Trustees of the school think they can find a suitable Teacher, and I have left the matter in their hands for the present.

Very Respt.
(Signed) Fred. W. Bailey
