I do not know the feeling of the whitepeople of this County in regard to freedmens schools, but the freedmen themselves seem to be indifferent in regard to it. A Mr Webber of Seguin has been here with me and endeavored to establish a school, but failed, the freedmen having no money to support one. I have no doubt but a large school could be raised in the fall or as soon as the freedmen begin to realize something for their years labor
