11-21-2020: Filled in the undeciphered and words in question. You were right - it was cotton picking. The children are pulled out of school so they can help pick the cotton - since attendance goes down the school is then usually closed for vacation. 11-21-2020: A tip: It is very helpful to refer to Completed transcriptions in this project, for context of time (year), formatting, etc. [[?]] - no clue [?] - not confident The question marked words in the body of the letter look like "cotton picking" but that doesn't make sense in the context and its hard to read. The question mark behind the year is due to the fact I a not fully confident that 1908 is the correct year. The name at the beginning of the letter is unclear to me.
