Vernou, A.A.A.G From the shortness of the period since I went on duty at this place Iave not able to report fully under this head: As far as I have learned the freedpeople in & about Marshall are indifferent on this subject: The School houses are very miserable, and in winter are calculated to keep the children away in consequence of not affording shelter sufficient.
