Sir:

A petition was sent to the Sub. Asst. Com'r. of this District on the 24th of August 1868 to have a school established in Kerr County, and it was returned to the signers by Bvt. Lt. Col. H.A. Ellis, then Sub. Asst. Com'r. for further explanations, since to which time nothing has been heard of it.
