Sir:

The freedpeople are all anxious to have their children educated. There is a school for freed-children taught in Halletsville by Miss Isabella Shaw f.W.C. Many freedpeople are unable to send their children to school. Their wants will be laid before Rev. Joseph Welch Supt. who is expected here during the month of November.
