As she had been relieved however I think best that she should not teach longer here at present - but wait till you came down, see how matters progress, and then decided.

To soften matters some, I advised her to decline, because the school at present would not justify two teachers &c &c. She can be provided for if necessary by the transfer of the Alleyton teacher here, should Mr. Hanna require an Assistant.

Assuming that you do not intend coming till some two weeks, I have written to Mrs. Weatsfield, to hold on [[?]] Mr. Gooden to suspend his operations till you come down.

I have been led unwillingly I fear into a great mistake at [[?]] When up there, Mrs W.'s school reminded me more of a play, than school house. It was for this reason I was favorable to Gooden's taking charge there - because I was informed she was not under the directions of the Bureau.
