Your letter of the 9th inst at hand —  Eason's address is care of E.T. Mathews Galveston. Many thanks for your kind offer. It is possible I shall be glad to accept. It will depend first upon General Howard who gave me hopes of a Commission & in the second place how goes the election whether I shall want it. Hanna, is making preparations to resign. Nothing definite yet. In regard to Miss Stell, to be honest, I am afraid to have any women, connected with the School, especially in Columbus.
