Concrete, April, 18th

Mr Jos Welch

I'm just in receipt of yours of the 9th inst. I would gladly hasten down to the school if I was able. This week I was riding, the horses got frightened, ran away, turned the carriage over, almost killed the lady who was with me, and I was badly hurt too; got my left arm broken, and I'm not able to leave my bed. As soon as I recover I will be pleased to take the school. But I don't like the idea of boarding at a Freedman's house - I can't do that.

Respectfully
Jasce Stell
