the parties assurance or at least the impression that he was authorized by the Bureau so to do when he had no such authority.

The house is a very good one - I think the best in the state for school purposes exceping the one at Austin.

I am sorry I could not complete the transfer as directed by the Asst. Comr. but as he will see the matter was entirely in the hands of Mr. Jno. Courtade and I had to do what he was willing to do. Had the case stood as Wm. Haughn stated it would have been an easy matter but instead of Mr. C. being willing to give the property back for what it cost him quite the reverse was the case. I will forward a memorandum of the actual claims of each party and a statement of the amounts to be paid to settle with all the parties and make up the amount to be paid Jno. C. in a day or two. I accidentally left it at Huntsville.
