Jefferson May 11 1869

Lieut. Wm. H Hicks
A.A.A.G & D.O.

Lieutenant:

I have the honor to state that, I this morning received the title of the promised lot of ground, from Mr. John A Bagby, to build a Freedmens School house upon at Clarksville Red River County.

I would therefore respectfully ask an appropriation of two hundred dollars to aid in the construction of the same.

If you have any blank contracts - have the kindness to send me a dozen.

Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Svt.
