Will you do me the favor in the event of Mr. W's absence to have my horse sent to auction & sold for what he will fetch. I was foolish not to part with him when I could have gotten a good price   Now I'm obliged to sell him - for what he will bring to meet a debt on a Freedmen's school here I contracted in Va. Do you go North? I hope maybe Grant I'm some relative - when I get in Wash.!

Let me hear from you, & give me such directing as I can get right off on June 15 if I'm to go.

I hope Mr. Welch will come here before that time as he can do much.
