Dear Sir,
It has been requested by some of the colored trustees who hold the lot for our proposed school building that it should be named for Miss Barnes in view of her having raised all the funds for the purchase of the land - I went to see secretary Gen. C. H. Howard, and received the within answer, which I transmit as directed. Please return the same to me. I suggest it at this early day that the name may be placed on the building.

Very Respectfully,
Sarah Skinner
