pay our indebtedness without great pecuniary embarrassment While I have done all that can fairly do some friend if I may so call him (Mr Pankey) has reported to my colored friend that I have recd from you to aid in this house $160.00 which report cause them to be more slack or backward in contributions and labor than perhaps they would have been you know this to be a bare fabrication of Pankey's and I wish you would correct it by letter to me or to Kirchen Carl or to Squire Rogers and relieve me from this charge The estimate made for the completion of the house and our indebtedness is in specie you can make the estimate in currency and assist us if possible for without assistance from some quarter I fear that I shall suffer pecuniary loss and the Community suffer for a house of worship and for school purposes.
Respectfully your obt sevt,
Alex Terrell
