Richmond Texas August 11th 1869

Mr Jos Welch Dear Sir you will please write and let me know if you received my report of last month or not as I have not received any returns yet We have a great disturbance here between the White and Black and I thought it best to [?] untill it was Settled. Mr Welch I wish to know if you will save me a commission and teach any Whare in the State if you Will commission me as a Teacher for as fast I am get a School here and at Columbia and I will furnish a teacher at Both places and yours oblige
