He has a party of Freedmen of influences arrayed against him and while I will do him this justice to say that he is entirly for from any change of immorality or often change affecting his character still he has lost the confidence of the colored people and not gained the confidence of the Whites and consequently can do but little good in his school. If therefore any appropriation is still made for this school I would most respectfully suggest that it be changed for the benefit of this new Enterprise. We would also ask your friendly aid in recommending suitable Teachers to us. We wish to employ first class men - capable and with established characters. I would be pleased to hear from you on this subject. My interests in the matter is my apology for my long communication.
