Dear Johnson,
It has just been called to my attention that you have had a CHINNERY portrait on approval from us since April, 1928, and I would esteem it a favor if you would let us know whether or not this picture has been sold. If it has not, I would suggest that you kindly return it to us at your convenience.

By the bye, I am sailing for Paris on the 29th of this month, and therefore, if I do not see you again in New York, I hope to have the pleasure of seeing both you and Quest in Paris some time during the summer.
