THE Chicago Public School Art Society has been in existence nearly forty years and continues to do more actively each succeeding year the work it set out to do.

The Society places pictures of aesthetic and educational value in the public schools of Chicago. Fine color reproductions of fundamental pictures of all schools are chosen with great care, on the theory that a really good picture has profound educational usefulness, while a poor picture sets false standards, difficult to eradicate.

The Society has the enthusiastic endorsement of educational authorities. It co-operates with schools and parent-teacher groups. Through its method of purchase, it is able to make a small sum go a long way.

The opening day of the autumn exhibition is the generous yearly support which the Chester Johnson Galleries give in behalf of this work for the public schools.

The Society is greatly in need of an increased membership paying dues of $5.00, $10.00, or $25.00 annually. If those who enjoy the exhibition will inquire further into the activity of the Society and generously help by becoming members, the officers and directors will be very grateful.
